U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today issued the following statement after it was announced that Montana will regain a seat in the United States House of Representatives. “Montana’s had the least representation in the U.S. House of Representatives over the last three decades, so I’m glad to see this news. Daines Announces Billings, Montana’s Emma Martinsen Offer of Appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy

U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced academy nominee Emma Martinsen of Billings, Montana has been offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. “Emma is a bright young Montanan that has dreamed of attending the Naval Academy and serving her nation since she was young,” Daines said. “Congratulations, Emma!” Emma graduated from Billings High School in 2020 and is a current student at Georgia Military College on a U.S. Naval Academy Scholarship. In high school, she was an active member of the speech and debate team, track and cross-country team and the orchestra.

Daines Announces Kalispell, Montana’s Tanner Russell Offer of Appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy

Daines Pushes for Capitol Police Officer Goodman to Receive Congressional Gold Medal

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today cosponsored a bill to award Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman, the man who led the mob away from the U.S. Senate floor on January 6th, with the Congressional Gold Medal. “Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman is an American hero. On January 6th, he helped save the U.S. Senate, the Capitol and our democracy. Officer Goodman deserves the Congressional Gold Medal,” Daines said. On Inauguration Day, Senator Daines was able to catch up with Officer Goodman and thank him for his brave service in person.
