U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced academy nominee Tanner Russell of Kalispell, Montana has been offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy.
“Tanner hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and serve our country in the United States Marine Corps,” Daines said. “He will be a great addition to the Naval Academy and I’m glad to see such a promising young Montanan represent our state!”
Tanner graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and was Flathead High School’s Class of 2020 Salutatorian. He excelled in the football, rugby, wrestling and track teams while frequently volunteering in his community. Tanner recently completed the Naval Academy Foundation Program.
