Across Montana’s 56 counties, our state’s roads, bridges, railways, pipelines, waterways and runways are vital to the prosperity of local communities. Our state’s transportation system promotes economic growth and secures our quality and way of life in Montana, but especially across our rural communities. As Chair of the Senate Western Caucus, I’ve pushed hard for strong and secure infrastructure across our state and I will continue to do so to drive economic growth.

Daines Secures $2 Million for Billings Logan International Airport

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that $2,000,000 will be directed towards strengthening Montana’s air travel infrastructure at the Billings Logan International Airport.   “Strong air infrastructure is vital to Montana’s economy and jobs,” Daines said. “This grant is great news for Montana, as it will further strengthen tourism in Montana and continue to drive economic growth for folks in Billings and the state.” The funding is part of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) under the Department of Transportation. U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today secured passage of two critical bills with direct impacts to Montana communities, the Clean Water for Rural Communities Act and a bill (S.1882) to allow Sidney Water Users Irrigation District and Kinsey Irrigation Company to continue receiving Pick-Sloan power out of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. U.S. SENATE– U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that $47,798,711 will be directed towards strengthening Montana’s air travel infrastructure. “It’s critical Montana has the best air travel infrastructure in the country,” Daines said. “These grants will lead to more jobs and development in Montana’s rural communities.”   The funding is part of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) under the Department of Transportation. Daines Secures Over $9 Million in Funding for Glacier Park and Missoula International Airports

U.S. SENATE– U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that $9,783,353 million will be directed towards strengthening Montana’s air travel infrastructure at Glacier Park International Airport and Missoula International Airport.    “It is one of my highest priorities to ensure Montana has the infrastructure needed to help our economy grow,” Daines said. “These grants will ensure that our airports in Missoula and Glacier Park have the most up to date equipment and resources necessary for not only Montana’s strong tourism industry but aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicles as well.”   Of the $9,783,353 million total, $3,500,000 will be distributed to Glacier Park International

Daines Fights for Certainty for Montana Ranchers

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines introduced the Modernizing Agricultural Transportation Act to provide Montana ranchers with certainty in delaying the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate and reforming Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. “Montana’s ranchers and livestock haulers drive Montana’s economy,” Daines said. “We must find a solution that keeps our roads safe and allows Montana’s agricultural commodities to get to market humanely and on time. Daines Announces Nearly $4 Million in Funding for Glacier Park International Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Steve Daines today announced nearly four million dollars in funding for critical construction and maintenance needs at Glacier Park International Airport.
