Daines Defends Pro-Life Advocates, Slams Google for Politically-Motivated Censorship

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines hand-delivered a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, calling on Google to reverse its September 13th ban on Live Action’s pro-life advertisements promoting Heartbeat International’s Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) hotline.

“As you know, Google’s international dominance in multiple fields of technology enables it to either safeguard or stifle the free expression of billions of people, including the communication of information that can save lives. Therefore, Google’s ability to independently self-regulate its own content restriction policies is of the highest concern,” the letter states.

Background:

Daines, Founder and Chair of the Senate Pro-Life Caucus, has been leading the fight to defend pro-life voices and protect the unborn.

On September 16, Daines demanded answers regarding Google’s double standard in censoring pro-life Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) advertisements while continuing to allow advertisements for deadly abortion pills.

On October 12, Daines slammed Google for the unjust censorship of the American Principles Project (APP) YouTube account and demanded answers on how the decision to censor another conservative group was made.
