Daines Announces Over $213,000 to Help End Veterans Homelessness in Missoula

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced $213,744 will go towards ending veterans homelessness in Missoula through the Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program. “The fact that we have veterans living on the streets with nowhere to turn is heartbreaking,” Daines said. “This grant will help get our homeless veterans in Missoula off the streets and provide them with greater access to the resources and services they need.” Daines voted for the funding in the appropriations process. Daines Helps Secure Over $1 Million for the Career Training Institute in Helena

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that the Career Training Institute in Helena will receive a $1,180,800 to support the YouthBuild program. “This important grant will help get young Montanans the training they need for the jobs of tomorrow, while in turn increasing the quality and quantity of housing for those in need,” Daines said. “Investing in workforce development and training is critical to filling the growing jobs gap and getting young Montanans ready to enter the workforce.” This grant is part of the Department of Labor’s YouthBuild program. Daines Helps Secure Over $4 Million for Bozeman Yellowstone International, Stevensville Airports

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that $4,831,837 will be designated towards the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and Stevensville Airport. “This is great news for the folks at Bozeman Yellowstone International and Stevensville airports,” Daines said. “These grants will strengthen our infrastructure to help improve travel to Montana, and support our vital tourism economy.” Daines helped secure the resources for the following grants through the appropriations process.  Of the $4,831,837 grant, $650,000 will be designated towards Stevensville Airport. $4,181,837 will be designate towards Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.  For more information on the grants, click HERE and HERE.

A bill to name a ridge on the east side of the Paradise Valley for an Air Force bomber that crashed there in 1962 has advanced in the U.S. Senate. The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee unanimously backed S. 490, which would name the southwestern arm of Emigrant Peak B-47 Ridge.
