KFYR: Senate Republicans introduce bill making sure only US citizens are counted in Census

Senate Republicans want to make sure the influx of undocumented immigrants doesn’t play a role in future elections. Several Republicans, including Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-ND, and Sen. Steve Daines, R-MT, introduced the “Equal Representation Act,” which would add a question to the Census verifying the person is a citizen and requiring proof. The bill also prohibits non-citizens from being counted towards congressional districts or the Electoral College. Cramer said counting non-citizens

Daines: This is America. We Should Know How Many Citizens vs. Non-Citizens Are Living in Our Country

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today introduced legislation to include the citizenship question on all government census forms. “This is America,” Daines said. “We are a sovereign nation. It’s absurd that we don’t know how many citizens and non-citizens are living in this country. That’s why I’m introducing this bill to require a citizenship question on the census.” To download audio of the statement, click HERE.
