Daines Urges Administration to Prioritize Coronavirus Direct Checks for Montana Seniors, Disabled
U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today urged the Trump administration to prioritize and expedite direct checks to eligible Montanans receiving Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Insurance, or Social Security benefits during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Daines urged the Administration to take action after hearing from Montanans on these programs who have not received their checks.
“Americans on fixed incomes, who often already struggle to make ends meet, are also feeling the impact from increases in the price of groceries resulting from supply shortages and often have no way to generate additional income,” Daines wrote. “While many of these individuals have already received their stimulus payments, making sure that no one falls through the cracks should be a top priority.”
Daines is working to ensure that Montana’s most vulnerable residents receive this financial relief swiftly during the ongoing pandemic. As of May 8th, $759,469,674 in direct checks have been distributed to 433,767 Montanans.
