U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that Montana’s Attorney General Tim Fox will serve as Daines’ guest of honor at President Donald J. Trump’s first joint address to Congress.
Fox is invited to attend the president’s speech while he is in Washington D.C. for the National Association of Attorneys General annual winter meeting, February 27 – March 1.
“Tim Fox has led the fight to push back on overreaching Obama administration regulations that have harmed hardworking Montana families and it’s only fitting that he be my guest of honor at the joint session as President Trump outlines his agenda to peel back those oppressive regulations,” Daines stated. “As Montana’s top law enforcement official, it will be great for him to hear how President Trump will restore law and order and protect Americans. ”
“I want to thank Senator Daines for his invitation to attend President Trump’s first address to Congress,” Fox stated. “I look forward to working with the president and Congress to build strong and balanced state-federal partnerships to address the challenges our nation faces, such as combating human trafficking and curbing the influx of dangerous drugs across the country. These have been, and will continue to be, top priorities of mine as attorney general, and I’m eager to work with the new administration to ensure that Montana’s values and interests are well-represented.”
The joint session is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 7:00PM MT.
