Daines Slams Report of Biden Sending Illegal Aliens Apprehended at the Southern Border to Northern Border States

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines is demanding answers from the Biden administration following reports of plans to transport illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border to northern border states, like Montana, for processing and urging them to stop in their tracks and not proceed with any action of this sort.

“The current crisis at our southwest border is a direct result of the actions taken by your Department and by President Biden to undermine the successful programs instituted by the previous administration. On day one this administration sought to institute a pause on deportations, end Migrant Protection Protocols, end construction of the border wall, and request from Congress amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants. These actions were a signal to migrants that America’s borders are open, which is reflected in the fact that border apprehensions in February of this year were at a 14-year high for that month,” Daines’ letter states.

Daines will continue his work to hold the Biden administration accountable for these policies and protect Montanans. Read the full letter HERE.

The Senator believes “Montana is a northern border state with a southern border crisis,” as the state continues to battle the flow of Mexican meth.

Background:

Daines slammed the Biden administration for violating the law by freezing funding specifically appropriated for the southern border wall.

In response to the immigration crisis surging at the southern border, Senator Daines will join a Senate delegation on a tour to the Texas-Mexico border.
