U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today released the following statement after meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump’s designee for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), U.S. Representative Mike Pompeo.
“Mike is exceptionally prepared to lead the CIA in their efforts to protect our way of life and the American people from overseas threats while upholding our constitutional rights and the values that distinguish our country,” Daines stated.
Daines and Pompeo discussed the fight against ISIS and other security threats, as well as the delicate balance between privacy and security as the United States seeks to thwart threats on the homeland.
