Daines Congratulates Billings, Helena Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Steve Daines today congratulated Richmond Paschall and Jeremy Van Dyke on their appointments to the United States Naval Academy.

Richmond Paschall, from Billings, received a nomination to the Academy from Senator Daines and was also nominated by Senator Jon Tester and former Senator John Walsh. He is a student at Billings West High School where he is the current Vice President of the student body and a member of the football and track team. Paschall is also a member of the National Honor Society and attended the Naval Academy Summer Seminar.

Jeremy Van Dyke, from Helena, received a nomination to the Academy from Senator Daines and was also nominated by Senator Jon Tester and former Senator John Walsh. A wrestler since 2002, Van Dyke is wrestling captain at Helena High School and was a three-time Academic All State and All Conference for wrestling. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is in the process of restoring a 1965 Mustang.

“Richmond and Jeremy are true leaders who have demonstrated a strong commitment to serving their communities and achieving the highest honors both inside and outside of the classroom,” Daines stated. “I know that as these young men pursue careers in the U.S. Navy, they will represent Montana and their communities well.”

The United States Naval Academy is located in Annapolis, Maryland.
