Daines Announces Over $2.7 Million for Bozeman Airport

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced $2,753,595.00 in funding for the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport for critical runway upgrades. 

The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and will be used to rehabilitate the runway. 

“As Montana’s busiest airport, it’s critical that the runway is in top shape to serve Montanans and grow Montana’s economy,” Daines stated. “This funding will go a long way toward improving the infrastructure to keep the airport operating as demand continues to increase.” 

On August 10, 2017, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport announced that United Airlines is increasing their service to Bozeman during the winter season by 30 percent.  

On July 21, 2016, Daines announced $3,565,062 in funding for critical upgrades at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. 

On July 12, 2016, Daines announced $2,324,655.00 in funding for Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.  

Daines secured the following provisions in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization:

  • Airport Improvement Program (AIP) dollars which build and maintain Montana’s critical aviation infrastructure such as runways.
  • Daines has also engaged the FAA to expedite grants to northern states with short construction seasons.
