Daines Announces Hiring of Six Montana Veterans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Steve Daines today announced that he has hired six Montana veterans to work in Daines’ state offices and serve Montana’s veterans and military communities.

“The best way to serve Montana’s veterans is to hire those who have been in their shoes,” Daines stated. “I’m excited to have a strong group of Montana veterans working in our offices, ready and prepared to help Montana’s veterans and military families receive the services they deserve and ensure that their voices are heard in Washington.”

  • Denny Lenoir serves as Director of Veterans Affairs and will oversee all veterans’ outreach and services work conducted by Daines’ office. Before joining Daines’ House staff in 2013, Lenoir served as State Director of Military Funeral Honors for the Montana Army National Guard and served in the U.S. Army and MT Army National Guard for a total of twenty years. Lenoir is a Billings native and graduate of Montana State University-Billings.
     
  • Cari Kent serves as Director of Military Affairs and field representative for Daines’ Great Falls office. Before joining Daines’ House staff in 2013, Kent served for 30 years on active duty with the United States Air Force, and is the former 341st Missile Wing Command Chief and 819th RED HORSE Squadron Chief of Logistics at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls. Kent attended the University of Phoenix where she earned her bachelor’s degree in management.
     
  • Bill Hilshey serves as veterans’ representative and healthcare liaison in Daines’ office. A Missoula resident, Hilshey holds an M.D. from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Forest Resources from Pennsylvania State University – State College. Hilshey is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and was stationed in Landstuhl, Germany.
     
  • Robin Baker serves as a constituent services and veterans’ liaison for the Great Falls area. A Great Falls native, Baker received her bachelor’s degree from Montana State University and her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. Baker previously served as a constituent service representative in Daines’ House office and is a veteran of the United States Army, as well as a Community Mental Health professional.
     
  • Jim Korth serves as a veterans’ representative for Senator Daines. Prior to joining Daines’ office, Korth worked for the Disabled Veteran Outreach Program at the Montana Department of Labor.  Korth served in the U.S. Navy from 1972-1976 as a Submarine hunter on P-3 Orions and belongs to many veterans organizations both in Montana and nationwide. Korth has lived in Bozeman for the past 30 years.
     
  • Nate Adams serves as a field representative for the Billings area. A Bozeman native, Adams graduated from the United States Naval Academy, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Adams attained the rank of Captain in the United States Marines.
