Daines Announces Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee Assignments
Will Once Again Chair National Park Subcommittee
U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that he has been selected to serve on three subcommittees within the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. For the second consecutive Congress, Daines will serve as chair of the National Parks Subcommittee.
“The Energy and Natural Resources Committee is important to Montana and oversees policies that directly impact the people of Montana,” Daines said. “I will continue to fight for greater access to our public lands, to address our National Parks maintenance backlog, to unlock our nation’s energy potential, and to implement commonsense forest management reforms. These issues are vital in protecting our state’s public lands and resources while also maintaining a strong economy.”Daines will also serve on the Energy Subcommittee, as well as the Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forestry, and Mining.
In addition to serving on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Daines is also serving on the Finance, Appropriations, and Indian Affairs Committees in the 116th US Congress.
Under Daines’ Chairmanship last congress, the Subcommittee on National Parks held a field hearing in Montana on the importance of gateway communities to national parks. This Congress, Daines will continue to focus on supporting gateway communities and rebuilding park infrastructure.
Daines will also continue to work to improve the workplace environment for those working in our nation’s National Parks.
