Daines Slams TikTok CEO for Enabling Spread of Pro-War Propaganda to Russian Public

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines and a group of his colleagues today demanded answers from the CEO of TikTok on their disinformation practices in Russia. Specifically, the Senator and his colleagues want answers on why TikTok is bending to pressure from the Kremlin and limiting users from Russia from seeing any content other than Russian state-approved media, creating an information blackout.  “Recent reports indicate TikTok… has allowed Russian state media to flood the platform with dangerous pro-war propaganda. No company should find itself in the position of amplifying the Kremlin’s lies, which fuel public support for Russia’s war of choice in Ukraine,” the senators wrote.
