U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today joined Fox Business to discuss the riots in California, the Big Beautiful Bill, and how President Trump is cutting waste, fraud and abuse with his rescissions package.

Daines emphasized how Trump has every right to restore law and order in California:
Remember what ICE is doing. What’s going on in California is outrageous. ICE has prioritized the worst criminals. We’ve got millions of illegal aliens in the country, thanks to Joe Biden. But ICE is prioritizing the worst of the worst, those 120 they’re starting with, these are hardened criminals. That’s what the folks are writing about in L.A. President Trump has every right to restore law and order, not only in Los Angeles but for this country…God bless [the President and] Tom Homan for what they’re doing here to save our country.
Daines called out the Democrats for lying about the Big Beautiful Bill:
Let’s keep in mind, big picture, because there’s a lot of confusion. The Democrats are telling lies about this bill. The most important point is we’re going to stop the largest tax increase in American history. That would absolutely slam growth in this country, but number two, it’s also now nearly the largest spending decrease bill in the history of the United States. So stopping the biggest tax increase, $1 .5 trillion of spending decreases. This is an amazing bill. If we’re going to win and beat China long term, it’s about certainty in the tax code, make these positions permanent So, American businesses are ready and equipped to compete. You give them, “Permanency in the tax code, lower rates, we’re going to beat China.
Daines supported President Trump’s cuts to waste, fraud and abuse in the rescissions package:
[The rescissions package] is going to reduce spending by $9.4 billion. Here’s some of the line items. $67,000 for feeding insect powder to children of Madagascar. Three million dollars for Iraqi Sesame Street. Four million dollars for sedentary migrants in Columbia. Two and a half million dollars for teaching young children how to make environmentally friendly, reproductive health decisions. And then last over a million dollars for LGBTQI programs in the West Balkans and Uganda.
