Daines Helps Lead Effort to Block Biden Administration’s Rule Forcing Colstrip’s Closure

U.S. Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, helped lead the introduction of a resolution to block the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from implementing its new rule. The rule would impose costly and burdensome Obama-era regulations on coal-fired electric power plants, like Colstrip, forcing them to close, jeopardizing grid reliability and raising electricity costs for Montana families.

“Joe Biden has been on an anti-energy warpath since day one of his Administration. Colstrip already meets rigorous filtering metrics, but this new rule will reverse practical health and safety standards put in place by President Trump and will force Colstrip to shut down, which will kill Montana jobs, increase energy prices and jeopardize the reliability of our electrical grid. This anti-energy agenda must be stopped,” said Daines.

Daines has been pushing back on the Biden administration’s anti-energy agenda since Day One. Read more HERE.
