U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today released the following statement on former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s Secretary-designee for the U.S. Department of Agriculture:
“Governor Perdue is an excellent pick that will expand opportunities for Montana ag exports, utilize sound science in his decision making process and work to restore active forest management,” Daines stated. “I know he will stand up for our state’s number one economic driver.”
Daines is a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, which has jurisdiction for the U.S. Department of Agriculture including nominations subject to Senate confirmation.
