Montana Congressional Delegation Congratulates Caitlin Gillespie on U.S. Air Force Academy Appointment

U.S. CONGRESS – Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester and Representative Ryan Zinke congratulated Hamilton High School student Caitlin Gillespie on her appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.

Gillespie was nominated to the academy by the entire Montana Congressional delegation.

Gillespie is a senior at Hamilton High School and was captain of both her Track & Field and Basketball teams, and is a proud member of her State Champion Class A Basketball Team. She is on the Honor Roll, homecoming royalty and is a delegate for the American Legion’s Girl’s All State. Gillespie has also accomplished her first solo flight as a pilot.

“I was proud to get to personally congratulate Caitlin Gillespie on her appointment to the Air Force Academy when I spoke with her. She is a hardworking student and demonstrates leadership inside and outside of the classroom,” Daines stated. “I’m looking forward to watching Caitlin’s next in a long line of accomplishments as a future leader of our country.”  

“Caitlin’s leadership, dedication, and willingness to step up and serve her nation should be commended,” said Tester.“I’m proud that Caitlin will be joining thousands of other courageous Montanans who proudly answer the call of duty.”

“Bravo zulu, Caitlin! Nominating and helping outstanding young men and women like Caitlin pursue a career in the U.S. military is an honor,” said Rep. Zinke, a retired U.S. Navy Commander. “Caitlin has proven she has the physical and mental toughness to excel and lead; she represents the absolute best of her peers, and I know she will make all Montanans proud.” 

The U.S. Air Force Academy is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
