Great Falls Tribune: Daines will call 80k Montanans on defense

About 80,000 people will get a call from Sen. Steve Daines on Tuesday.

Daines is holding one of his monthly teletownhalls Tuesday evening, this time focused on defense issues like the National Defense Authorization Act, which is currently being discussed in the Senate.

The bill includes language on Malmstrom Air Force Base, intercontinental ballistic missiles, 819th RED HORSE and upgrading C-130s.

The call starts at 6:30 p.m. and Daines will open with remarks and then take questions from participants. Teletownhalls usually last about 45 minutes, according to Daines’ office.

Tuesday’s call will focus on Cascade County and others with strong military and veterans populations.

Depending on the topic of the teletownhall, the calls focus on certain geographic areas of Montana, said Alee Lockman, a Daines spokeswoman.
