Daines to Welcome NAM President to 2018 Montana Manufacturing Summit

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufactures (NAM), will speak at the 2018 Montana Manufacturing Jobs Summit in Kalispell.

“Montana’s manufacturing industry is one of the state’s fastest growing economic sectors, and supports thousands of good-paying jobs for Montanans,” Daines said. “I am excited to welcome Jay to Big Sky Country for the upcoming Summit. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in manufacturing, and will be a great asset as we discuss innovative ways to grow this important industry in Montana.”

“This is a transformative time for manufacturing in Montana and across the country. Manufacturers are investing in our people and our communities, fueling economic growth and driving innovation. I’m looking forward to returning to Montana and joining the summit once again to delve into the issues that are front and center for manufacturers—workforce development, trade expansion, regulatory relief, tax reform and more,” Timmons said.

NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector.

Timmons, who became president and CEO of NAM in January 2011, also serves as chairman of NAM’s Manufacturing Institute. His previous experience includes serving as chief of staff to Congressman, Governor and Senator George Allen of Virginia from 1991 to 2002, and a term as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2004 election cycle. When he first came to Washington in the 1980s, he served as press secretary to Congressman Jim Martin (R-NC) and later Congressman Alex McMillan (R-NC). To learn more click HERE
