The grant will be used by St. Joseph to engage a network of hospitals serving rural communities through development of a Western Montana Rural Nursing Collaborative.
“This is a collaborative project and a made-in-Montana solution that supports our nurses, helps lower health-care costs and maintains high-quality care for Montanans in rural communities across the Flathead,” Daines stated.
The collaborative will allow for increased education, training and telemedicine opportunities at rural sites across the hospital’s service region. The grant was awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Rural Health Network Development Planning Grant Program.
In January, Daines sent a letter to the Health Resources and Services Administration in support of the St. Joseph Hospital grant application.
