Internships 

The Office of U.S. Senator Steve Daines is currently offering internships for Spring, Summer and Fall sessions.  Opportunities exist in offices across Montana and in Washington, D.C.  Duties will vary and can include, but are not limited to: office work and general reception, constituent relations, press relations and special events.  Internships are filled on a first come, first served basis pending application submission and interview(s). Interns will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Fill out this form.
  • Include a resume with three references with phone numbers.
  • Include a letter of recommendation from a professor or professional reference (non-relative).
  • Include a sample of applicant’s writing (college coursework is acceptable).

Employment is contingent upon a background check.

Due to the volume of applications the office receives, applicants will only be contacted if selected for an interview.

Our internship program requires that any non US Citizen not only have work authorization sufficient for Form I-9/e-Verify purposes, but also meets one of the citizenship/residency requirements set out in federal law. The law requires this office to comply with the E-Verify Program established by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). If you are selected by our Office for a paid internship or will receive other remuneration from our Office, the Office will verify with the DHS and the SSA that you are eligible for employment in the United States.
